School Days

Can you believe it? In Albuquerque, I registered my son for school today, my daughter 2 days ago. School starts on Tuesday!!! (I'll try to contain my excitement). Seems like every year, they're pushing back the start date and extending the school year. Can you hear "It's the most wonderful time of the year" playing in the background.. lol.

Busy day today. Nothing special with YOAD, I did sign up with Spark People and LOVE their calorie counting program. Check it out.

Take Care,
Eat Well.

  1. Rich,
Just came across your screen name (n2styx) on message boards on YOAD site. Love Styx!! Just read through your blog and had to say congrats to you! You are looking great and I bet feeling great too! Your transformation is amazing! I have lost 25 pounds and would like to lose about 10-15 more. I love the way I feel when I eat well and exercise. I felt I could relate to what you said about taking a few days "off". I just took a couple weeks off. Not completely, but enough that the weight loss stopped. I didn't gain any back at least. I do great all day and then at night it falls apart. Last night was my first night back "on" track! I really want to make my goal weight now! Don't have a google account but if you want to reply with any tips I'm at wendysue327@yahoo.com
    Keep it up! Wendy

  4. Hi Rich! Just thought I would let you know that I got my YOAD book and I am diligently reading it. It is an easy read and I already feel like I have learned a lot. I also checked out that website, Spark People and it is really cool. I set up a quick page there and skimmed through some info they have and I really liked it so thanks for that. My weigh in day was today and I only lost 1 pound but I keep telling my self, ANY decrease is a good day!

On another note, I can't believe your kids are going to school already, kids here don't go back until September 5?! ha ha
    Anyway, have a great weekend!

  5. I just got the YOAD book from the library, and I am very inspired by your success! Could you maybe let us know what you eat during the day, to get an idea of a typical daily menu? Keep up the good work :)

  6. Wendy, WAY TO GO!!! 25 pounds is great. It's also good that you 'took a break' and hopped right back on again. You can lose the last 10-15 pounds, we can do it together. Nights do get hard, I find that hot herbal tea helps. And YES STYX rocked. I wish Dennis and the rest would make up and tour together again, the new lead bites.

Elizabeth, Yes, it truly is a glorious time of the year!! lol.

Stephanie, one pound is one pound gone!! Do get discouraged, remember, one meal at a time, one day at a time, one week at a time, one pound at time. This is doable, YOU WIlL DO IT!!

Anonymous, A typical day, I eat Cheerios, skim milk, frozen blueberries and flax seeds for breakfast. I have a Activia Yogurt w/ flax seeds for morning snack, about 2 hours after the Cheerios. For lunch, (about 2 hours after my yogurt) I have a salad consisting of Romaine lettuce, 1/2 tomato, 1/4 cucumber, chicken or turkey breast, almonds, craisins sometimes 1/2 avacado. After noon snack, about 2 hours after lunch, I'll either have another Activia or a handfull of walnuts or almonds. Dinner, I have one of the dinners in the YOAD book. I really like the apricot Chicken with almond green beans or the the salmon with asian rice. I rarely have dessert. I NEVER EAT AFTER 7pm. Hot herbal tea helps if I get too hungry. I walk 1 hour every day in the morning after my Cheerios. Hope this helps!!

  8. Hey Rcih I have ment to ask you when you started the You diet did you do a detox for the first few days . I think alot of people do that before starting a whole new eating venture by drinking only water and eating only fruit and vegatables for two days . I was just wondering .I have been thinking about doing that to get me back on track.
